Step 3: Remove the Registry Key.

Once when the Windows Update key is deleted, the key will be rebuilt again which will resolve the issue. To do that:

Hold CTRL+SHIFT+Esc keys to open Task Manager.

Click File and select Run new task.

Check the box Create this task with admin privileges and type regedit and press Enter.

Locate to the following location: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\{89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-00AA005B4340} > right click on the key and select Delete.
